F&Q

What do I wear to my session?

This is entirely up to you! If you want something a little more styled and posed, I suggest having everyone wear a similar color pallet. For example, most newborn sessions that involve the family have  coordinating outfits, but this is really your preference, and what you want your video to look like.

Maternity session outfits can range from formal dress, to jeans and a button down, or pajamas – whatever you are most comfortable in.

Feel like wearing pajamas or sweatpants in the hospital for fresh 48? DO IT. I would be wearing the same thing.

For family videos – same thing. You do you. Wear what everyone is comfortable in. Rain jackets don’t have to match. Hair doesn’t need to be perfect. And Spiderman on a t-shirt is not going to take away from the emotion and love in your video.

Do you have a studio?

Just your house and the great outdoors! Or in other words, no.

Videography doesn’t always have to be staged or posed. I want to capture you, your life, and your family. And where else is more comfortable than your own home? This allows me to capture details in a nursery, a child’s favorite toys, hobbies that you enjoy doing, and authenticity.

Newborn sessions are always In-Home. Weather might not always be on our side when we capture your newborn, and we want them to be comfortable.

All other sessions have the option of going on location – whether it’s your backyard or a favorite ice cream place.

What if I’m not giving birth in a hospital?

No problem! I go where you will be. If that’s a midwife center or a pool in your living room, I’ll be there.

Details can be discussed and organized once session is booked.

My husband and I don't like to show our kids' faces online, but we still want something we can share with family.

The internet alone can be a terrifying place to share the most important people in our lives, but then add all of the new AI technology...yikes.

I get it. Privacy is something I value for my own family, and I value it just as much for yours. As a videographer I respect your family and the decisions you make when it comes to sharing content online. During your session, I will work with different angles and posing techniques to make sure we still get those precious moments, but without showing the little faces. You will receive a fully edited video for you and your family to enjoy, as well as a short edit including the "faceless" shots, so that you can comfortably share with family and friends, as well as online if you so chose.

My house isn't "aesthetic" enough. What if there is no where that looks good to film?

Lucky for you - this is for me to worry about, not you. There is no need to completely remodel your home just because you are afraid of how it looks. The same way I shoot flattering angles of you, I do the same for the environment we are in during our session. Knowing where to stand, how to compose a shot, and what angles look best, I can still get great footage while minimizing all the background distractions you may not care for. If you are still feeling uncomfortable, or self-concious about the space, I recommend considering an outdoor or on location shoot.

Why should I choose you?

Great question! With so many incredibly talented photographers and filmmakers, it can be hard to chose when you have to consider the quality of work and the price point that works best for you and your family.

Having children of my own has really opened my eyes to the everyday moments them may seem boring and mundane to grown-ups, but absolutely magical to a child. The way the watch ants crawl in and out of ant hills, how they lay their head on your shoulder when you read to them, how she watches you when you do your makeup. It may all seem routine, but these are moments that you'll look back on one day when they are all grown up, and your heart will swell and ache for that type of love again.

I want my films to feel natural, and organic. To have you be in the moment so fully that you aren't even aware of the camera. My number goal is to create a memory that will last a life time. One full of love, nostalgia, peace, laughter, and joy. Life moves fast, and it's easy to get lost in the busyness of parenting. Let me allow you to step aside for an hour and slow down so that some day when you look back, you can say "It was all worth it."

How soon should we book a newborn session?

I recommend anywhere between 8-14 days after birth. During these "fresh" days, baby is still sleepy, more likely to still curl up as they were in the womb, and can settle into a pose a little more relaxed and for longer.

Of course though we can still do sessions after that two week period. We might get lucky and see some beautiful bright eyes!

Our family doesn't do anything interesting or fun. I want a family video but am afraid we will be too boring.

As they say, "sometimes less is more"! As long as you are together, there are always memories to create. Before our session, we will talk about what is happening in your life right now, what stage you are in, and what you like doing together as a family. You may not recognize it, but making breakfast in the morning (yes, even if it's a bowl of cereal), story time, kicking a ball outside, or snuggling together on the couch all make for excellent memories that you will still see special down the road.
